I’m embarking to start writing about some of the good foods that I have tried in my recent Japan trip. As much as I wanna write some of them, they are located in alleys and do not have English names. Really irritating as I can’t share some of the awesome food I’ve tried. Maybe I should just put up the pics and maybe you guys can just use the address on the receipts to find the places? Let me know if it works for you guys!
Anyways, this Kaitenzushi Nemurihanamaru is a nice sushi conveyor belt place which I came across while walking around the Kitte Mall, just beside the Tokyo Station. The mall itself was a very interesting triangular layout and the shops there are pretty interesting as well, especially the handcrafted ones. Now I’m truly missing the place, so rich in culture, so well mannered people, love the winters, awesome food. Sigh… shall plan another trip this year! Well enough said, let my pics do the talking.
Taste: Freshness beyond imagination. Need I say more?
Service: Tip top!
Ambience: Nice and cosy.
Price: Around $90 for all that. Cheaper than Singapore I believe!
Checked out a huge shopping mall quite near where I’m staying in Shenzhen… It’s quite a high class mall with a lot of the big brands. Then there’s Jusco which is a huge supermarket with many groceries available for me to buy but I was there for a different purpose. I was there to check out Sushi Oh… a sushi chain of stores, which is located at the super back part of the mall on same level as the supermarket.
Rating: 4.5/5. Service was good but they didn’t allow me to take pictures of the food… which I’m paying for… hmmm…
Taste: Pretty good. But Yuen Long one’s better.
Portion: Slightly above average.
Price: Total bill was RMB$180, which is about SGD$38.00 for 2 persons.
RTE: Maybe when I’m at Jusco again for grocery shopping.

I crossed over to Yuen Long in the New Territories of Hong Kong last weekend. My first time there and to my surprise, the whole place is a town on its own! There are so many good places to eat, so many places to shop, karaoke is so cheap (clean ones of course), so many places to eat (oops I said that already) and so crowded!
Met up with my friend who lives there and she brought me to this place for Japanese food… I was like skeptical at first, because I’m in Hong Kong man! I want Char Siew! I want Siew Yoke! I want Beef Brisket! But since she was paying for the meal then I kept my big mouth shut lah…
After alighting from the bus from the causeway, we walked a little to reach this bird will not lay eggs place (鸟不生蛋的地方), which if I was left alone, I will never find it and prolly get lost in the process. It’s located somewhere near B仔凉粉, so if you can find it, just ask the people there. The restaurant is a very small outlet which claims to sit 64 people… Seriously, to me, I think half of that would be comfortable. You know lah, in HK, everything is small… flats are small, offices are small, hotel rooms are small, even eateries are small! So we went in and found a good seat under the aircon. 🙂 To my surprise, the whole place was so crowded until left only a table for us… it was 3pm+! I heard Hong Kongers eat throughout the day… it’s so damn true man! I love HK!!! Woot! So we started ordering what we can possibly finish.
Taste: Very fresh and very nice. Very different from what we get in Singapore. Love it!
Portion: Above average. they really live up to their mission. Good portion, good quality, good service and good prices. Excellent job Becky!
Price: Total bill about HKD$400+, which works out to be about SGD$70+. Totally worth it for the portions.
RTE: Hell yeah!!!
