串王 @ Yuen Long, NT,HK

This is another little shop I’ve discovered in Yuen Long… When it’s peak hour, you will see a crowd there patiently waiting for the lady to get their orders ready. Surprisingly, only 1 person is manning the store and she alone can manage so many BBQ pits! So I decided I should try what’s the big hoo ha is all about…

Business is damn good...
Check out the selection of meats and veg for BBQ... Yummmms!
My samples... haha... Ta bao back to try them... The aroma is out of this world!

Rating: 5/5

Taste: The difference between the BBQ here and China is that this one has a lot of different flavours. Each meat is seasoned differently unlike the BBQs in China, all same tasste and using the same seasoning from Xinjiang. In general, all meats are pretty tasty… Talking about this makes me salivate only… damn…

Portion: Thick and juicy… good size.

Price: The whole batch I ordered is about HKD$70 which is around SGD$12.

Location: Along the same street as the fishball place. Just opposite only. If can’t find, follow the aroma! 🙂

Soup Kambing (Indian Mutton Soup) – Upp Boon Keng Food Centre

Was at Upp Boon Keng Road Food Centre again. this time I was back to feature the Kambing Soup which is the much better one. But of course, eat in moderation. Maybe once a month the most. Check this out.

Super thick soup
Check out the chunks of mutton. Very lean and yet tender. Very tasty too!
Remember it's the 3rd stall from the left. The one with the green signage. Absolutely no regrets!

Rating: 5/5

Taste: Very good. Meat is tender cos they use the leg of the goat. Soup is really good and taste damn good when you dip the chunks of french loaves in it. Also check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWNKOmzZ1Lw. 🙂

Portion: Loads of chunks of mutton. No joke.

RTE: Yeah of course but not too often lah… Not good for health.

Location: Blk 17 Upper Boon Keng Road Market & Food Centre. Check out the online maps for direction. Very near Kallang MRT station.

Blk 17 Upp Boon Keng Market

At the same food centre as the Penang Char Kway Teow, on the same row, there’s this famous Kambing Soup stall with the green signboard. One of the best in Singapore I must say. Reasons stated below:

Sup Kambing! Dip the bread into the soup and put it in your mouth!
Loads of mutton cubes!

Rating: 4.5/5

Taste: No strong mutton smell which most women cannot take it. The soup is thick and full of flavour. Love it!

Portion: Quite a big bowl with loads of mutton cubes! Not bad for its price. But the bread is $1.00… not very cheap… so next time bring your own french loaf, buy the soup, sit somewhere further and then start dipping! haha…

Price: $4.00 + $1.00 for the bread

RTE: Yes but not too often cos not good for health. 🙁
