京都果子烧 Kyouto Kashiyaki – Taipei, Taiwan

This is a little stall in between some fashion shops in one of the streets of Ximending. What caught my eye was the colorful display as well as the big portions of fillings inside these Japanese pancakes. So I went to the stall and chatted with the lady boss. She was nice enough to introduce me the 12 flavours they have, and also learnt that that was the only stall they have (maybe more by now). These are great snacks for ladies who are in between their shopping sprees and will definitely be charged up again to carry on! Rating: 4.5/5 Taste: … Continue reading 京都果子烧 Kyouto Kashiyaki – Taipei, Taiwan

SO FREE WOOD FIRED PIZZA (柴烧比萨) – Taipei, Taiwan

Ok I know this has been dragging for some time and finally I’m getting to write about the food I tried when I was in Taipei. This So Free Wood Fired Pizza place came to me as a surprise actually. I was walking around Ximending looking around for a place to have something light, then this little restaurant caught my eye. Not because of the custom built big stone oven that is right at the counter in front of the shop, but also the crowd that is patronizing the restaurant at a weird timing of 3 to 4pm… So I … Continue reading SO FREE WOOD FIRED PIZZA (柴烧比萨) – Taipei, Taiwan

BANGKOK CITY HOTEL COFFEE HOUSE @ BANGKOK

I promise to write about this for http://www.agoda.com friends. If you happen to stay in this hotel like I did, and it happen to rain heavily or you happen to feel very tired and don’t feel like moving your ass to anywhere, you should really check out the food at the coffee house below. I was having a lunch meeting one of the days at the coffee house located at the same lobby of Bangkok City Hotel. Well, it is not a distinctively coffee house but when you approach the staff at the front office, they will get someone to … Continue reading BANGKOK CITY HOTEL COFFEE HOUSE @ BANGKOK

Black Canyon Coffee @ Bangkok

This is gonna be something new in my blog… No, not about writing for popular restaurants or cafe, but more about condemning them. I mean, come on, you’ve come so far, grown so big, franchised your business, cross nations, etc… at least provide your customers with the standards you portray or even close to it. Apparently, for this coffee bistro joint, it was so bad, that it spurred me to write this blog post! I was waiting to watch my movie at level 6 of MBK (as usual) and would wanna have a good coffee to keep myself awake throughout … Continue reading Black Canyon Coffee @ Bangkok

MBK CENTER FOODCOURT @ BANGKOK, THAILAND

I do apologize for the absence as I was doing my stint in Shanghai. Just got back to Singapore and will be flying to Taipei for a short trip to feature lots of street food! Then after that will be heading on to my new stint in Suzhou, China, where there are a lot of nice and traditional snacks and foodstuff, which I will be slowly discovering them. I was recently in Bangkok as you can see from my previous post on Bangkok’s Most Hated and apart from what pissed me off, was the great food in the land of smiles. … Continue reading MBK CENTER FOODCOURT @ BANGKOK, THAILAND

Red Mango @ Wilkie Edge

When you hear Red Mango, you must be thinking it’s either a fruit or dessert store right? This one has both. That’s right, this Korean food chain, made popular in the US is now in 5 locations in Singapore. I happened to chance upon it while I was at Wilkie Edge for dinner one of the Saturdays and my friends were like highly recommending it to me. So after dinner, we strutted to the open concept shop and ordered our favourite flavours… hmmm… favourite flavours… what a tongue twister… can you say it very fast 5 times? Ok I’m joking… … Continue reading Red Mango @ Wilkie Edge

CANTON-i @ ION ORCHARD

So last week, I was asked by a friend to go for some food tasting at Canton-i located at ION Orchard. I was pretty excited ‘cos it was my first time to ION since it’s opening dunno when. 😛 It was raining super heavily that day and I was late for half an hour. But was warmly greeted by the Ops Mgr there together with some media people. The Ops Mgr asked us what do we want to try, I told her that we’ll leave it to her to select the famous dishes for us. As we proceeded to the VIP section, … Continue reading CANTON-i @ ION ORCHARD

Thai Food Restaurant (301 Ubi Ave 1 #01-273) (Moved – See new address)

Ok this is not my first time eating here. Many times already. Reason is that it’s really good and affordable. So I’ve arranged to meet up with 2 girl-friends to introduce how good the food is. The shop owners are an old couple who hired a Thai cook from Bangkok (His name is Ah Thep or Ah Boy). Very nice and friendly people and somehow they are very contented with their lives until I decided to feature their food. I hope they have better business as they are really old already. Rating: 4.5/5 (No aircon and got funny smell coming … Continue reading Thai Food Restaurant (301 Ubi Ave 1 #01-273) (Moved – See new address)
