仁信老铺 @ Guangzhou, China

Advertisements

Another regular dessert place I always try to go to whenever in Guangzhou. This place boast their award winning 双皮奶 as well as their 姜撞奶. But other than their many traditional desserts, they have meals like noodles and steam rice as well. They also deliver to anywhere within the vicinity of Haizhu Square. So if you’re staying at any hotels within this area, you can give them a call and order in to save you to hassle of squeezing with the crowd.

Very crowded all the time...
Wan Ton Noodles with Oyster Sauce. Noodles cooked to perfection and texture is springy... only thing is, it has a very strong yeast smell. RMB$12
Beef Brisket Noodles RMB$13
Braised wings for RMB$10 for 2pcs
Ginger Vinegar Pork Leg RMB$15. Famous for this as well
Fried Milk RMB$8... Milk with flour and deep fried. Kids love this.
Ginger Bang Milk (Jiang Zhuang Nai) If you're having a cold, ask them to add more ginger syrup
Address and tel numbers of the place

Rating: 4/5

RTE: Many times already.

Location: See last pic for address for the 2 outlets. The one I frequent in the first one.

大利清汤腩 @ Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Ok this place was recommended by the taxi driver who was driving myself and my friend when we were going to the other beef brisket place. So I took a short walk from my hotel, Charterhouse and reached the place in less than 10 mins. The place is tucked in a little alley from the busy roads of Wan Chai. Went in and was warmly greeted by one of the middle age lady waitress. She sat me down in front of the TV and I really love the place. Clean, bright and aircon is very strong. Love it. Check out the pics below:

The place... with a lot of reviews and pics of celebrities visited that place
That's 东方188 mall opposite...
阿牛 was here!
Other celebrities and food critic 阿苏 was there too
Clean and bright...
For my non-chinese friends, it means,"Remember to drink the soup. It'll be your loss if you don't!" Hence the soup must be really good.
Menu Side 1
Menu Side 2
First up, white radish. Very very juicy and it soaks up all the beef broth... nice... HKD$22
I was given one of the best parts of the beef brisket... forgot what it is called but it super tender and nice. Check out how every layer of meat is separated by a layer of fats... that's why so nice. The broth, I tell you it's soooooo gooood!!! - HKD$45
Plain noodles with veg. The noodles is really Q... mean it's very very supple and nice. HKD$10
A very satisfied customer...
Address of the place... they have another one near the turf club but this place is more convenient.

華南粉面茶餐厅 @ Wan Chai, Hong Kong

A super old friend of mine from school days brought me to this place for dinner/supper after catching up in Hong Kong recently. According to him, he loves the beef brisket there and would try to patronize the place whenever he’s back in HK. Thanks to him if not I will never know of this place.

Store Outlook. Friend is posing... haha...
Looks small from outside but it can accommodate quite a lot of people inside. As it was summer, thank God it was air-conditioned!
Guy cooking all the beef parts and brisket. You can imagine how much flavour there is in the broth!
Beef Brisket with cabbage below. This bowl is about HKD$80... quite expensive if you ask me. Cos premium part of the brisket cost a lot more. But the taste is really good.
Very nice and tender...
Mixed Beef Parts Soup - Not a big fan of beef parts but they all tasted alright and tender. I'm ok with tribes but not the intestines and lungs and liver... but they contribute to the wonderful soup! 🙂
Nice cup of Ice Yuen Yang (tea mix with coffee) to cool the chilli hot mouth and wash it all down. Shiok!
My old classmate Gary Lim.
Me enjoying every bit of the brisket... the chilli is pretty spicy!

Rating: 4.5/5. Would be a perfect 5 if it’s not as pricey.

Taste: Pretty awesome I must say. The broth is really the essence of dunno how many cows!

Portion: Slightly above average servings.

Price: Bill came up to around HKD$140. Quite alright for those who believe in paying higher prices for good food. But I found another place which apparently is better than this place for much lesser price. Will review it later. 🙂

RTE: Maybe. It’s good but the other place is better to my taste.
