Gim Chew Fried Hokkien Noodle (锦州炒福建面) – Bedok, Singapore

Advertisements

Have been to Bedok (east side of Singapore for my overseas readers) quite frequently lately and I haven’t really sit down and write about the food here actually. I mean apart from the well known Bedok Chui Kueh (Steam flour cakes), seriously haven’t ventured around this old food centre. As there are major renovations going on right now, this old facility will be demolished soon and all the hawkers will be moving to a brand new air-conditioned food centre, along the same row where Sheng Siong is. Definitely can’t wait for the new place, so that I don’t perspire while eating! ;P

Anyways came across this stall which was recommended by my colleague who is living in Bedok for the longest time. So I ordered the $4 only as I was pretty hungry. The aunty is a pretty chatty and friendly lady. Don’t mind the poor lighting as the place is pretty dark at the back.

The stall
Looks plain right? The secret is in the broth that is soaked up in the noodles and the sambal chilli is pretty awesome! Great companion for the noodles!
