海霞板面 Handmade Noodle – Hougang, Singapore

Individual stalls like these are either  recommended by someone or discovered by yourself. I was checking out another stall but to my disappointment, so I was fortunate that I came across this stall and the rojak stall which I will blog separately.

What I like about this stall is the lady boss who is very cheerful and obviously hard working cos she’s there as early as 5am to prep the stall to start selling at 6am. Even heard those who have moved away to Jurong come back just to eat her ban mian.

And what I like about this Mee Hoon Kueh is that the dough is super yellowish eggy and I believe she kneaded it till smooth and left to proof before using it for cooking. As a result, the kueh is extra fluffy and soft to every bite, which is a totally different gastronomical experience from your usual white plain flour mee hoon kueh. On the other hand, the Red Wine Chicken Mee Sua was also yummy, with appropriate wine strength in the broth which feels darn good while drinking it hot. I reheated my tapao soups but if you can, have it there will be nicer. They also have the ‘Fried Ban Mian’ which is literally just the dry version. Can skip.

Yue Yang Handmade Ban Mian • Seafood Soup – Kallang, Singapore

Intro:
You know I have so many backlogs it’s quite shocking. In fact I can do this full time but then again, not paid and no income from advertisements. So suck it up and try to slot in these posts when I can.
I was introduced to this stall by an old friend cos her work place is there. Apparently dry ban mian is available in most places but how tasty it is depends mainly on the sauce that these individual stalls concoct.

The stall

My order of Ee Mee with Fried Fish. Comes with a bowl of soup, boiled for hours, must drink!

After mixing up with the sauce below. Yums!

Taste:

I chose Ee Mee (wheat noodles) cos of the healthy factor but also it taste really good. Super love the sauce and literally it’s the dry version of the soup ban mian, it has crispy anchovies, an egg and loads of veg. Fried fish chunks were generous too and well seasoned. A comfort dish for me anytime.
