Another value for money nasi padang store spotted at Roxy Square in an indoor coffeshop. I’m there every month for my haircut and this stall is new. So I tried their food and these are the pics:
Stall frontBig plate of rice with 4 dishes. Dunno what fish was that but I suspect it was salt water catfish. Pretty good assam pedas.
Rating: 4/5
Taste: Quite good for its price
Portion: Above average
Price: $4.00 only for my plate.
RTE: Yeah I guess so… I go there for my haircut anyways. 🙂
Location: Roxy Square I , Katong(The older building)
Someone recommended me to go try the Penang Assam Laksa at Geylang Lor 25A. This restaurant used to be at Lorong 15 but moved here and I reckon it’s the silly rental cos the traffic at Lor 15 is a lot better.
So I parked at the open carpark just on the left after turning left to Lor 25A and then walk a little nearer to Paya Lebar MRT. The place is located along the shophouses, somewhere in the middle. I was there at 10pm so no one was eating there.
Address of the restaurant
Ordered their famous Penang Assam Laksa, big bowl is $4 while the small one is only $3. Portion is quite big. Very tasty and sourish, a tad spicy, full of minced fish, definitely worth the $4.
The black sauce is prawn paste. Adds damn good flavour to the assam laksa!Ah ha, there you go for the noodles. Their noodles apparently is a little more chewy on the texture. Quite nice.
Then I ordered the Shanghai Chicken Claypot also. $6 only. Quite nice. Tasted like the Sesame Oil Chicken but with herbal taste to it. Not bad.
Shanghai Claypot Chicken... Love the sauce... so I ordered a small bowl of rice... hehe...
Bill came up to $12.40… I think they forgot to put in another glass of homemade barley drink. But I paid the amount anyways lah. 🙂
Bill
Overall the food is pretty good. I would go back again to eat the laksa.
