Thai Food Restaurant (301 Ubi Ave 1 #01-273) (Moved – See new address)

Ok this is not my first time eating here. Many times already. Reason is that it’s really good and affordable. So I’ve arranged to meet up with 2 girl-friends to introduce how good the food is. The shop owners are an old couple who hired a Thai cook from Bangkok (His name is Ah Thep or Ah Boy). Very nice and friendly people and somehow they are very contented with their lives until I decided to feature their food. I hope they have better business as they are really old already. Rating: 4.5/5 (No aircon and got funny smell coming … Continue reading Thai Food Restaurant (301 Ubi Ave 1 #01-273) (Moved – See new address)

翠绿Fried Kway Teow (Beach Road Hawker)

Was a little hungry after my performance at Jurong Point on Sat so I was driving along Beach Road then I turned into the place to check out some good food. I know the claypot rice is famous there but they were not ready yet. So I was on the upper level and walking around and found this pretty famous char kway teow place. I know I’m not suppose to feature famous ones but they are affordable and no pork/lard for my muslim friends! This stall at #01-91 near the middle staircase, needs no introduction. Too many features… too many … Continue reading 翠绿Fried Kway Teow (Beach Road Hawker)

IKEA Tampines

With a title like that, I reckon some of you must be wondering… WTH… IKEA? Like we don’t know! Yeah I believe most of you don’t know yet, but IKEA serves one of the best breakfasts around and it’s super duper affordable! Met up with my business associates this morning for breakfast and I was amazed by my discovery!   Rating: 4.5/5 (Would be perfect if the scrambled eggs set is a little warmer. But, it’s alright with me, I eat cold food!) Taste: Scrambled eggs set is nice and value for money. Vegetarian Beehoon is really nice. But if … Continue reading IKEA Tampines

Blk 17 Upp Boon Keng Market

At the same food centre as the Penang Char Kway Teow, on the same row, there’s this famous Kambing Soup stall with the green signboard. One of the best in Singapore I must say. Reasons stated below: Rating: 4.5/5 Taste: No strong mutton smell which most women cannot take it. The soup is thick and full of flavour. Love it! Portion: Quite a big bowl with loads of mutton cubes! Not bad for its price. But the bread is $1.00… not very cheap… so next time bring your own french loaf, buy the soup, sit somewhere further and then start … Continue reading Blk 17 Upp Boon Keng Market

Blk 17 Upp Boon Keng Market

It’s been a while since I’ve been to this old market for some of the good food here. I’ve arranged 2 friends to meet me here before we head on to May Day’s DNA concert in Singapore Indoor Stadium. The place can be accessible by walking from Kallang MRT Station also. One of the must try here is an old couple’s Penang Char Kway Teow at #01-08. The stall is just right in front of the carpark when you reach the market. Rating: 5/5 Taste: If you have tasted the Penang Char Kway Teow in Penang, this is the closest … Continue reading Blk 17 Upp Boon Keng Market

Top Of The Town – Bak Chor Mee

Was around the turning into Spottiswoode Park Road from Neil Road today and met up with my friend for brunch. He said the Bak Chor Mee there at the corner is damn good. So I tried. Location is directly opposite Singapore General Hospital. You can park at the carpark there and walk across or you can find a lot behind along Blaire Road. Address is 167 Neil Road. So we ordered normal bowls and I requested to add more noodles as I was famished. So after a short wait, our food arrived. Rating: 5/5 Price: $3.50 (No price mark up … Continue reading Top Of The Town – Bak Chor Mee

Sims Place Market Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee

Chanced upon this old couple selling Fried Kway Teow & Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee while I was at Sim Place Market the other day. This place is at Blk 49 Sims Place, unit #01-26 and it’s my regular haunt. Loads of good food here and I will feature them one by one whenever I can. The stall is very clean although it’s only Grade B… but I prefer Grade B stalls cos usually taste better than Grade A ones.. haha… So I ordered a plate of Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee for $3 a plate. Rating: 4/5 Taste: Sambal is very nicely fried. … Continue reading Sims Place Market Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee

2 Upper Circular Road Lor Mee

I’ve been eating this Lor Mee for the longest time so I’ve decided to try it again recently to see if the standard dropped or not. As usual, the whole coffeeshop is managed by foreign talents from where my ancestors came from. Coffeeshop’s stalls are all under the same owner now cos all were wearing the same uniform… nevertheless I ordered my Lor Mee from the noodles stall. Rating: 4/5 Taste: Used to have that herbal after taste but now very mild only. But overall still very tasty. Portion: $4 per bowl a lot of ingredients. I had like chunks … Continue reading 2 Upper Circular Road Lor Mee

EnFrost Cafe (POMO Level 2)

Located at level 2 of POMO (formerly known as Paradiz Centre), the little cafe hardly sits more than 10 of me inside. Tucked in the middle of 2 other food stalls, some people hardly notice this stall. Nevertheless, I was there to try their food! They only have 2 things. Curry Chicken (with rice or bread) and Snow Dessert (with different toppings). The curry chicken has a strong aroma about it and after tasting it, you’ll know where the aroma comes from. It’s the rumpah (Malay-nonya version of paste made up of different spices) that makes the whole dish so nice … Continue reading EnFrost Cafe (POMO Level 2)
