鸿运茶餐厅 (Hung Wan Restaurant) – Shenzhen, China

Hung Wan Restaurant is a Cha Can Ting I frequent when I was staying in Shenzhen, China. The best thing about this place is, it is just below the regular spa I frequent too. So can order their food up and eat while I was watching TV program or having a foot massage! Awesome lifestyle back then and missing it definitely.

Hung Wan I believe are owned by Hong Kongers and they have gone through renovation recently and the interior designing was done by Millwork Interiors based in HK too. Very excellent work done, with a vibrant and energetic design giving the restaurant a younger and fresher look. Check out the pics below:

My fav fried maggie with pork chops!

Rating: 4/5.

Taste: Not bad. Tasted better but nice enough to curb my cravings. A bit on the oily side though.

Portion: Average.

Service: Slow… Cos 24hrs… lesser staff?

Ambience: Smoking now disallowed inside aircon areas but still you get some assholes smoking inside.

Price: Total about SGD$12.

RTE: Yeah if I’m visiting that spa again.

華龍咖啡屋餅店 Hualong Bakery Cafe – Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

Chanced upon this little traditional HK bakery cafe while I was nearby to shop for some guitar picks. What drew me to this place is the display of yummilicious buns that were shouting to my friend and me to get in and indulge! And that’s what we did. Haha… The place I tell you, is really very small. So small that I really give all the credits to the person who laid out the tables and chairs to sit around 36 pax! Kudos to him/her! Anyways, check out the pics below:

Rating: 4/5.

Taste: 4/5. Buns were excellent. Beverage is normal. But seems like a lot of people were there having noodle soup and luncheon meat egg sandwiches. Typical staples in HK. We couldn’t try cos we had lunch!

Portion: Average

Service: 5/5. Unlike most of the other Cha Can Ting (HK Cafes), the waiting staff here are nice and friendly! Maybe they like big cute guys hahahaha ;P

Ambience: 3/5. This one no choice have to give mid rating. Very crampy and ventilation not good if they do frying inside the kitchen. BUT, they have aircon so add 1 hence 4/5!

Price: If I remember the set of bun and beverage is around HK28. Not expensive in the middle of TST!

RTE: If I’m in the area!

Location: 尖沙咀金馬倫里7-7A Tsim Sha Tsui Cameron Road 7-7A. Tel: 2723-6217. Operating Hours: 0700-2200hrs daily.

深美餐厅 – Shenzhen, China

If you’ve visited Shenzhen, China, you probably might not know this place. Although situated near the Futian customs, this place is not known to tourists or even most locals. Located at the midst of Shui Wei Village of Huanggang Town, you can’t miss this corner cafe with its nicely renovated interior and exterior.  Check out the food I tried below:

Same rice rolls with char siew. Char siew was quite little though but the rolls are nice and tender. Tasted a little milky though, quite new experience for me.

凯泰烧腊茶餐厅 @ Futian, Shenzhen

A HK friend of mine discovered this place which is just opposite the Futian Customs from HK. I’ve probably passed that place for like more than 10 times already but never really noticed. ;P So one day when I was coming back form HK, I decided to go try the mini baguettes which I heard was super good and fresh.

Menu
Other menus on the table... must always look for the best set meal deals on the table!
Ambience
Kitchen and Roast Meats display... their roast goose looks good... will try another day
Polo (Pineapple) Butter Bun! Damn sinful... but it's super nice...
Soft and fragrant... nice...
Mini Baguette with choice of chicken or pork chop or commonly known as 鸡/猪扒包
The baguette is hot and crispy... made and served fresh! Nice!

Rating: 4/5. Would be a 5 if smoke free and also one of the waitresses smelt really badly.

Taste: Pretty good… a good substitute for the ones in Macau… at least the baguettes are fresh and hot!

Portion: Average

Price: RMB$20+. Can’t remember but it’s ok priced.

RTE: Yup! Wanna try the other stuff and I think their wan ton noodles are pretty good cos many people ordered.

Location: Directly opposite Futian Customs main entrance/exit.
