Few weeks ago I was on my usual Tuesday food trail when I decided to visit the very old North Bridge Road Market & Food Centre. I was there ages ago so I decided to check them out again.
I really took my time to scrutinize on what to eat cos I knew I need to plan my indulgence as I would be eating at a few places. Then I found this interestingly wrong spelling signage stall which I though could be the hidden gem I was looking for. I placed my order of the bigger portion with extra ingredients (greedy me!) and the food came shortly after.
Rating: 5/5.
Taste: Nice beefy thick sauce with hints of Chinese herbs used but yet not too overwhelming. Condiments used are pretty authentic. Salted veg, grounded peanuts suggest that they have been around for some time. I was told by Aunty they used to be from Blanco Court… That building must have been torn down some 20 years ago.
Portion: My $6.00 portioning is quite ok. I didn’t ask for extra Kway Teow to be added.
Service: Self-service.
Ambience: Hawker center.
Price: $6.00. Normal bowl size starts from $4.00.
RTE: Yes definitely!
Location: 861 North Bridge Road Food Market #01-93. Mon-Sat: 11.30am-6.30pm, 10pm-3.30am. Closed on Sundays. Tel: 90544476
