Come Daily Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee 天天来炒福建虾面 (Since 1968) – Toa Payoh, Singapore

Seriously never been to this hawker center before in Toa Payoh. So I was wandering around to look for what is good, came across this stall.

You see the year they were founded, means the noodles must be of some standard. So I ordered a plate which costed me $5.00 and had to pay up first according to their SOP. When ordering I was told by the young man that I might have to wait for half an hour. So I said, nevermind, I’ll wait. Told him my table number and shortly, this came.

Really nice and spicy, with bits of dried shrimps inside. Pity they gave quite little. Come on, I ordered $5.00 portion leh, don’t you know I love chilli?!? Anyways I continued waiting… and true enough, around 25mins later, this came.

Ok the portion is not very big, that explains why the sambal so little… haha… but I can tell the taste should be quite good from the milkiness of the broth below. Inside there were some pork belly, 3 prawns, bean sprouts and eggs. Yummy!

Check out the broth... hours of boiling the prawn soup fried with eggs will give you this awesome broth.

Wallop the noodles in less than 10mins and I must say, it was worth the wait. Next time I’ll order $6… 😛
