Seriously never been to this hawker center before in Toa Payoh. So I was wandering around to look for what is good, came across this stall.
You see the year they were founded, means the noodles must be of some standard. So I ordered a plate which costed me $5.00 and had to pay up first according to their SOP. When ordering I was told by the young man that I might have to wait for half an hour. So I said, nevermind, I’ll wait. Told him my table number and shortly, this came.
Really nice and spicy，with bits of dried shrimps inside. Pity they gave quite little. Come on, I ordered $5.00 portion leh, don’t you know I love chilli?!? Anyways I continued waiting… and true enough, around 25mins later, this came.
Ok the portion is not very big, that explains why the sambal so little… haha… but I can tell the taste should be quite good from the milkiness of the broth below. Inside there were some pork belly, 3 prawns, bean sprouts and eggs. Yummy!
Wallop the noodles in less than 10mins and I must say, it was worth the wait. Next time I’ll order $6… 😛
Taste: Very nice and rich with wok hei taste inside.
Portion: Below average.
Service: Not rude at all even though they are popular. Served to table as long as you’re willing to wait!
Ambience: Hawker center on the second floor. Pretty airy.
RTE: Yes if around that area!
Location: 127 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, Singapore 310127. Above the wet market. Opening hours: 9.30am to 6pm. Close on Mondays. Hmmm… Come Daily? How?
