香记鸡饭 (Xiangji Chicken Rice) – Toa Payoh, Singapore

Hey y’all!

Haven’t been writing for the past 2 days as I was super busy packing all my stuffs for my move later today. Yes, I’ll be moving back from Shenzhen back to my homeland Singapore! I dunno if it’s a good thing (Cos there’s so much good food & hazardous for my diet!) but it’s always a good thing to be near family and friends. Will be embarking in a new company dealing with F&B distribution. Will keep you guys posted! Anyways I’m about 95% packed and ready for the movers to swarm in after 2pm! Anyways, am really looking forward to going home… not the unpacking though… >_<

Ok back to food. I was in Toa Payoh during my last trip back and found this pretty awesome chicken rice stall at a coffee shop. Surprisingly, I couldn’t find any review on this stall! But to the peeps living around that area, they know that this chicken rice is blardy good and long queue during peak hours! So I decided I should try it since I haven’t had my lunch. Check out my review below:

Ordered roast chicken with roast pork and an egg for S$5.

Skin of the chicken was nice with slight crisp and so was the roast pork. It was 3pm, so slight crisp is already pretty good. Can't imagine when it's piping hot.

Rice was cook to perfection. Grainy and yet with the right moist. Normally with rice like that I would go for 2 or 3 bowls... but, I'm in control now... ;P

Overall Rating: 4/5. I wanted to try the steam chicken but they ran out of it. But roast chicken was good, with tasty rice and chilli sauce to go with it. Go try it!
