Chiang Rai Day 3

Finally found some time to update day 3 as I was heading up to the mountains of Doi Chang and stay over a night there with limited data access. Now I’m sitting at Taurus Coffee Bar at Don Mueng Airport in Bangkok sipping a cup of pretty good coffee and eating a Double Shock Cake…

I began day 3 with checking out of the hotel very early to visit Chevit Thamma Da Coffee House (Which means A Simple Life or Ordinary Life in Thai) across the river from where I was. Touted as the best restaurant/cafe in the whole of Chiang Rai, I can only understand why after I reached there. I’ll write on this place more in a separate post (http://wp.me/pCcuC-Hx). This place have me so much inspiration that I started videoing my experiences for my readers to see ‘cos a picture can tell a thousand words, a video can do ten times of that. Check out my video of the place  I spent a good one hour there absorbing the great ambience before I headed southwest towards my next destination.

Before I did the long drive, I drove towards town to look for a 7-Eleven to top up my SIM card. I found one and stopped along the side of the road and walked past a local eatery with a slab of roast pork hanging and I could tell the skin was damn crispy! After topping my card, I had to try this and ordered a plate of Roast Pork Rice but I asked them to half the rice portion.

The pork was so good, it beats any of the branded ones I ate before. And this plate costed me only THB40! I could order half a slab easily if I had friends traveling with me…maybe next time! I’ll definitely be back for this… Hopefully I can remember how to go back there again… *gulp*

The rest of the trip I’ve done up in a video form to present it. Totally unplanned and just for the fun of it! The video shows my journey to the white temple, up the mountains, etc. It was fun!

After that lovely but salty lunch, I headed straight to Doi Chang Coffee Farm where I made a prior appointment to visit. Learnt a lot over there and do check out Part 1 below and Part 2 later after I finish video editing.

Stay tune for eatwithroy visits Doi Chang Coffee Farm Part 2!
